The 52 truly marks a new stage in the design of cruise catamarans, as did its predecessor, the famous 500. If the vertical bows with their "diamond" appearance, the bevelled shapes of the hulls, the lifting deckhouse and the slender rigging of the 52 already herald a little bit of colour, its originality does not stop at its external "look", nor at that of its interior layout.
This Lagoon is the result of long reflections by architects Van Peteghem-Lauriot Prévost (VPLP), the Italian firm Nauta Design and the Lagoon design office. The important and sometimes radical choices to which these reflections have led us are a faithful reflection of our convictions, whether in terms of elegance, comfort, safety, ease of use and of course... performance under sail.
The 52 is now in 2 versions: FlyBridge and SporTop.
52: luxurious and contemporary
Noble and luxurious materials, with soft shades for a harmonious interior. Horizontal and fluid lines for open spaces and generous volumes. A permanent link between the interior and exterior life and a slender exterior line for a boat of character.
Outside: elegance, comfort and safety
Easy and safe access to the boat thanks to the open rear skirts. On the deck, wide gangways with integrated deck hatches.
The cockpit, on the same level as the saloon, has an outside saloon and a sunbathing area on starboard.
Access to the flybridge either by a staircase from the cockpit or by another from the starboard deck.
The steering console is a tilting type with 3 positions (starboard, middle or port) to always have perfect visibility under sails or during manoeuvres.
Rigging: performance and ease of use
The choice to move the mast back, directly from VPLP's experience in competition, has many advantages over a cruise catamaran:
- a large front triangle for a wider choice of sails: a guarantee of performance
- the shorter boom makes manoeuvring much easier
- the mainsail, wider at the top, takes advantage of undisturbed winds for a real gain in performance
- the refocusing of the rigging weights considerably reduces the boat's pitch
Inside: comfort, space, light...
The saloon includes the living room and dining table on starboard, the large kitchen on port side which forms a large "U", and the chart table in the centre, facing the sea.
The "U" shaped kitchen is equipped with large hobs, large work surfaces and plenty of storage space.
Traffic in the living room, between the kitchen and the living room, is optimized.
All cabins offer a large double bed, plenty of storage space to accommodate the boat's offshore programme, and of course an independent bathroom with separate shower. The cabins benefit from incomparable natural lighting thanks to the fixed hull glazing, and excellent ventilation thanks to their deck hatches and portholes opening onto the hull or towards the cockpit.
A U-shaped kitchen for comfort at sea, equipped with large hobs, large work surfaces and plenty of storage space
The circulation between the cockpit and the galley is optimized.
